inventive words invent new worlds

A thought on World Book Day

Today is for all those who read under the covers by torchlight/mobile phone; for those get charged for excess luggage because 5 books is not enough for a holiday (and they don’t own a Kindle); for those who fill every shelf and sill, nook and cranny, cupboard and box with the library of their lives.

It’s also for those who’ve just picked up a book for the first time. It’s even for those who’ve never smudged the ink, creased the pages or bent the cover. In fact it’s perhaps more for them than anyone else.
